After battling ongoing lower back pain and trying different forms of pain management interventions (like face joint blocks with no long term relief), I knew I needed to seek a better solution. I was introduced to Jessica upon strong referral. We have been working together for the last two years and I look forward to my weekly sessions with her. I started seeing improvements after a few months and gained strength and confidence while my pain diminished.
She has a wealth of knowledge of the body’s intricate workings. She is hands on, always asking me how I feel and what’s bothering me, and fully customizing my session based on the needs of my body for that day. She goes right to the source of my pain and manipulates my body through massage, stretching, or joint release. She then continues the session to build up my overall core and body strength and ensures proper posture in all exercises.
I’ve been able to resume my former activities I’ve enjoyed, like running, cycling and other sports that I initially backed off from due to my lower back pain. Jessica has been an answer to my prayers and I feel like a different person! I started working with Jessica and ELEMENTAL in April of 2019 in hopes of building core strength and flexibility to help me continue enjoying two of my favorite passions; water and snow skiing as well as improve everyday life through improved body movements. I had been dealing with various injuries the previous few years which usually required physical therapy. Jessica and the ELEMENTAL team have enabled me to get stronger, develop better body position, enjoy my passions and avoid physical therapy.
I am 55 years old and have been training and pushing my body to its limits since I was a kid. I participated in the American Ninja warrior several times and am an avid and skilled rock climber. I have overcome injury after injury because I push my body to its limits…and then a bit further.
I always thought that my strength would get me through to achieve higher levels of competitive climbing but I seemed to hit a plateau. Recently, a trusted coach and colleague of mine commented that it is not my strength that is holding me back, but my body control and my mobility. That’s when I sought out help from Jessica. I had no idea how to tap into my deeper muscular system in order to find the strength and body control that was required of me when climbing until I started working with Jessica. The strength I built in my traditional gym programming just wouldn’t translate to the great outdoors when it was time to execute.
Jessica worked tirelessly to study my body movements when climbing. Through assessment she determined my weak links and helped me break down the mechanics of what I needed to improve. She customized my program to be very sport specific to rock climbing using creativity and unconventional methods. She helped me focus my mind to tap into deeper inner strength and gain body control in order to overcome my plateau.
